Who we are
Emerald Cut is a free, non-commercial hobby tool that generates patch files for a game you legally own. There is no company behind it and it makes no money. For any privacy request, contact us at aalcazar@brooktec.com.
What we collect
- Your email address — only if you create an account (needed to verify you and to notify you when a patch is ready).
- Your password — stored only as a salted hash; we never see or store the plain password.
- Run metadata — the randomizer settings and seed of a generation you request, so we can produce and track your patch.
- Basic diagnostics — anonymous technical logs of a generation (to fix bugs).
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, we do not profile you, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone. Your game ROM stays on your own device and is never uploaded.
Why we process it (lawful basis)
To provide the account and generation service you asked for (performance of the service and your consent, given when you register). Notifications rely on the email you provide for that purpose.
How long we keep it
- Generated patches and their build data: automatically deleted about 48 hours after they are produced.
- Account data (email + password hash): kept until you delete your account.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data. Deleting your account (from Settings) removes your account and its associated data permanently. You may also contact us for any GDPR request and, if you're in the EU, complain to your data protection authority.
Storage & security
Data is stored on a private server in the EU. Passwords are hashed; the site is served over HTTPS.
